Die altgediente Matratze der Künstlerin hängt schlaff an der Wand. Direkt über der Stelle, die normalerweise vom Körper eingenommen wird, leuchtet eine Neonröhre in zartem Rosa und projiziert die Worte "great again" in den Raum. Die rechteckige Form der Matratze verweist auf die klassische Gestalt eines Zeichens oder Schriftträgers und eröffnet somit einen Dialog zwischen Bild und Alltagsgegenstand. Gleichzeitig kontrastiert ihr gewöhnlicher Nutzen als Quelle von Komfort und Rückzug stark mit der Öffentlichkeit des Ausstellungsraums. Das Persönliche und Verbrauchte wird hier zur Schau gestellt, wobei die Gebrauchsspuren der alten Matratze ein integraler Bestandteil des Bildes sind und in Verbindung mit der Schrift einen Gegensatz bilden.

The well-worn mattress of the artist hangs limply on the wall. Directly above the spot typically occupied by the body, a neon tube glows in a delicate pink, projecting the words "great again" into the space. The rectangular form of the mattress alludes to the classical shape of a sign or a writing surface, thus initiating a dialogue between image and everyday object. Simultaneously, its ordinary function as a source of comfort and retreat starkly contrasts with the publicity of the exhibition space. The personal and worn-out are showcased here, with the signs of use on the old mattress serving as an integral part of the image and juxtaposing with the text.
